Transition - Switch of Play

Description

Set Up

- Split players into 2 teams

- Target players each end

- 2 areas

Instructions

- The team in-possession retain the ball inside one half of the pitch. Every player except the target players must be in one half which the ball is being played in.

- Each team would need to make 3 passes before being allowed to switch the ball to the target player on the opposite half.

- Once the ball has been switched, players from both teams must get into the other half. The team in-possession cannot switch the ball again until all their players are in the half.

Progressions

- Coach counts down from 5 seconds. If both sets of teams do not get into the half of the pitch once the ball has been switched, the team lose a point.

- Make the practise directional - each team look to keep the ball inside their own half. Once the defending team win the ball, they can look to switch play.

- Introduce goals - the teams must play it to their target player before being able to score in the goal.
