Sprinting Mechanics [PLSM]
Description
1st variation: Just the player and the hurdle, focus on just working over the hurdle with the focus being on the arm and knee drive. Don't rush it, focus on the technique.
2nd variation: Player works over the hurdle until the coach shouts "GO!" the player will then sprint out to the cone in front, using the sprinting mechanics taught.
3rd variation: Player works over the hurdle until the coach shouts "GO!" the player will then sprint out to the cone in front and then plays a bounce pass on each foot, either side of the cone.
Key Coaching Points
- Arm Drive: One hand under the ear, one by the pocket - use the elbows to drive and switch. Coaching cue "Pocket to ear!"
- Knee Drive: High intensity, drive through the floor.
- Opposite arm to knee.
