Back
Recovery Runs
Description
The coach will start by playing a bounce pass with the athlete and then calling white / black. The athlete must check around the relevant pole, receive a pass, and then finish on goal. As soon as the athlete shoots the coach should pass the ball to the opposite pole and the athlete should make a recovery run and try to stop the ball before it reaches the pole.
Progression : add an additional step once the athlete has completed the recovery run, be that another shot or a pass to the coach. This will encourage them to act quickly in moments of transition.
