Passing & Moving Technical Practise [CPPMTP]
Description
The player and coach play 2 bounce passes either side of the mannequin before dropping back to take a touch around the back of the mannequin. The player would continue the practise on the same side for 8-10 repetitions before doing the opposite side.
Progression
- After the touch around the back of the mannequin, the player plays it back to the coach before dropping back towards the pole behind to take another touch around the back, making a longer pass back to the coach.
Key Coaching Points
Passing - Standing foot next to the ball, using the inside of the foot, straight leg while striking the centre of the ball.
Receiving - Body shape to receive the ball, use the hips to direct the ball.
Footwork - Quick short steps, keep feet shoulder width apart to maintain control and ability to move quickly.
