Back
First Touch & Body Position
Description
The athlete should bounce pass through the middle of the poles and then move to the outside of the pole to receive a pass. The athlete should then take their touch behind the pole towards the middle and pass back to the coach.
PROGRESSION :
Look at how their body position will change how they take the touch.
1) Face the way they want to go - back foot touch
2) Face the opposite way - Use outside of front foot
3) Facing down the middle - either a Cruyff style chop, or 'Anthony' style drag.
Key Coaching Points
Body Position :
- HOW we are stood - changes HOW we take our touch
- Focus on where hips are facing
- No 'wrong' body position, just better/worse as it creates different options where one will be more suitable than another
