Ball Control & Turning

Description

The player moves off the pole to receive the ball, taking their touch around the pole to approach the second pole. On the approach towards the pole, the player takes the ball away towards the colour that the coach calls, keeping the ball on the safe side. The player then performs a turn on the cone to go back to the starting pole. The player performs another turn before passing the ball back to the coach before resetting.

Key Coaching Points

Small touches, knee over the ball keeping close control of the ball.

Standing foot ahead of the ball to exaggerate the move. Able to use it as a shield against any opponent looking to challenge for the ball.

Keeping the ball on the safe side, using the opposite side of our body to protect the ball. Be aware of our surroundings to move into space and avoid the opponents.
