Description
The athlete completes 2 bounce passes before the coach calls a colour. Once the colour is called, the athlete moves to the outside of it to receive the ball and take the first touch around the pole. The athlete completes a figure of 8 action before passing the ball back into the coach, returning back to the pole to go through another repetition.
Progressions
After completing the pass back to the coach, the player opens up to receive the ball to play a wall pass. The player receives it to go back around the pole again completing a rep.
Key Coaching Points
First touch - Open the hips and shoulders to take the ball where they intent to.
Close control - Small steps with the touches of the ball to keep the ball close when working in tight spaces.
Changing direction - Get low when changing direction with the ball to keep control and perform at speed.
Head placement - Keep the chest over the ball and having the ability to see what is in-front when having the ball at the feet
