Awareness to Carry

Description

Using the coloured training tool on the tablet placed on the wall, the athlete plays a bounce pass with the coach. After, the player opens on the other side to receive the ball and checks the colour on the screen. The colour the athlete sees will be where they take the ball around that coloured cone before passing the ball back to the coach.

Key Coaching Points

Awareness - Players need to be aware of their surroundings, checking over their shoulders as well as where they are facing so that they can make the best decision on the ball.

First touch - Take the first touch in the direction by stepping into it, facing both hips where the ball needs to travel.

Close control - Small touches with the ball, getting low when changing direction to maximise control and speed with the ball at the feet.
