1v1 Moves

Description

The player plays a bounce pass with the coach before opening their body to receive the ball to take their touch into a 1v1. The player performs a skill move before playing a pass against the wall, passing the ball back to the coach to reset the practise.

Skill moves -

  • Inside step-over
  • Outside step-over
  • Body feint
  • Chop move
  • 360 spin

Key Coaching Points

Close control - knee over the ball, small touches using different surfaces of the foot to manipulate the ball.

Awareness - recognise where the space is to move into, having the head up to see the pitch in front.

Change of speed - force the opponent to react to the movements and speed, making it difficult for them to read the intention.
